World Federation of Miniaturists
About The World Federation of Miniaturists
The World Federation of Miniaturists was created to further the worldwide recognition of the miniature art societies and individual artists that practice and embrace all forms of miniature art, from portraiture to landscapes, from sculpture to scrimshaw.
The federation was formed in 1995 by Kay Petryzsak & Wally Curtis. The federation held exhibitions in various parts of the world in four year intervals. The first WFM Exhibition was in London, hosted by the Royal Miniature Society, it was hailed a success and subsequently exhibitions have been held in Tasmania, Washington DC, Moscow and lastly in South Africa in 2016.
The purpose and intent of the exhibitions was to draw artists from all over the world to enter work either through a Society they were members of or as individuals. Each show drew great interest and success with sales growing at every occasion.
Since 1995 modern technology & communication has transformed the ease in which miniature art is promoted worldwide. With the use of the worldwide web it has made the connection between societies around the world far better and has changed the way we think. WFM has decided it needs to embrace this undeniable fact and evolve with it.
A new website has been formulated ‘www.worldminiaturists.com’ formerly ‘www.worldfm.org’ and will now act as an information post for all miniature art societies, individual artists, galleries and any organisation that promotes or hosts miniature art exhibitions. We intend to create a directory of the organisations to enable the miniature artists of the world to enter work in any society or gallery they choose.
If any society, gallery or individual would like to be listed on this directory with their name, country and website details please email ‘[email protected]’.
On 1st May 2017, the site became live, any news or event can be submitted to the directory by emailing details to the above email address and the website will be updated every calendar month.
There will be no cost to enter details of Societies, Galleries and Individual Miniature Artists.
World Miniaturists aims to be an information hub for miniaturists worldwide.
